You can try to run, but you can’t hide – it’s everywhere, sometimes lurking in the dark; Other times, it’s center stage, absorbing life and fun from everything around it. What kind of animal am I referring to? The Voc.
Vok has crept into every facet of our civilization like a foreboding mist or fog, blurring our vision and inevitably blinding us and leading us off the cliff into oblivion. So you might be thinking, “C’mon Kat, aren’t you being a little dramatic? Maybe you should give up the coffee and dystopian television, to which I say no!”
No, dear reader, I am not being dramatic; This is real life, and if your eyes aren’t open to it now, you’re about to fall off the wok cliff.
It may be too late anyway because our scientific and medical communities have bowed their knees to the cult of wok.
The scoop: Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services says it will no longer use the term “field worker” in agency communications, citing the term’s “notice to descendants of enslaved black and brown individuals.” 🧵https://t.co/ZtgMmKNfGD pic.twitter.com/PpbGGGW2Ty

What is a wok?
No one would call the phenomenon I’m referring to The Voke, but I’m a writer and I get some joy out of adding a bit of literary flair to my articles, and frankly, it’s become a monster. Three small letters fed the awakened monster – D, E and of course I.
It is essential to understand what DEI stands for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

The critical assumptions of DEI are as follows:
- America is systematically racist
- White America has unconscious racism
- Equal rights, entitlement and the law reinforce white supremacy
Now, I could do an article about each of these false assumptions. Still, for my editor’s sanity, I won’t do that to you today.
So instead, I won’t dive into what recent studies have found about how these concepts have trickled down into science.
And in December, Stanford University compiled a list of “harmful phrases” including “brown bag” and “blackballed” to be removed from university websites.https://t.co/3V1JuUTlq5

Trust the science
A report from the National Association of Scholars found some interesting trends in the world of science in November. For example, between 2010 and 2021, the association saw a dramatic increase in DEI language in scientific publications.
How big an increase? 4,200% increase. I like numbers and I’m good at math; The percentage is completely bananas.
The report highlighted the following:
“…reports on anti- and DEI-related topics grew 3 to 42 times faster than scientific topics in general on the Web of Science.”
Web of Science is not a fancy term for the Internet for all you boomers out there. Instead, the Web of Science database contains citations from medical and scientific peer-reviewed journals for those studying science and medicine.
In PubMed, a database covering biomedical research, the association found a similarly high proportion of publications with the terms “anti-racism” and “critical race theory”. There is a lot of leftist theory written by scientists and medical professionals.
That energy can be channeled into a more productive and scientific and medical capacity, finding cures for cancers and so on.
The revision of language extends to the White House. Biden’s 2022 budget proposal used the term “birth people” instead of mothers, and diversity training for the Army now refers to a soldier who wants to discuss “their newly confirmed pregnancy.” https://t.co/mf8ZxJNoQu

Get ’em while they’re young
If you’re not freaked out yet, I’m really going to wig you out. While DEI has infiltrated the worlds of science and medicine, it tends to grow rapidly within higher education.
The same report found:
“University Twitter feeds show a similar pattern in use of DEI language for university websites: modest and steady growth in use of DEI language with a spike in the summer of 2020.”
Apparently, a tribute to the universal bending of the knee to the Black Lives Matter movement that took this nation hostage that summer. Recently the University of Southern California announced that they would not use the word ‘field’ unless they were “experts in their field” or “an expedition is going into the field next week”.
Why, you may ask? According to Administration Email:
“Language can be powerful, and phrases like ‘going to the field’ or ‘field work’ can have meaning for descendants of slavery and ungentlemanly migrant workers.”
Now, I’m pretty funny, but I promise you it’s not a joke; The above is the real life happening in all the universities of this country.
The idea that universities are left-leaning because of greater intelligence falls away when you see how susceptible leftists are to misinformation.
These people can get pregnant while simultaneously thinking men consider themselves intelligent and others delusional. pic.twitter.com/qnA7710hMQ

Talk about dangerous minds
Being a teacher is about serving your community and your nation because you believe in helping shape the country’s future leaders and great minds. It’s not easy, and it certainly won’t be easy.
Another report found that one in five job candidates in academia are formally evaluated based on their commitment to DEI. I can confirm that; I have explored teaching undergraduate history or political science courses since I have the qualifications for the job.
However, each position I am looking to apply for requires me to write an essay highlighting how I support and commit to the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Clearly, I argue that I do so by treating all my students fairly, regardless of their background.
Strangely, I haven’t heard back from any of the universities I’ve applied to…strange.
It’s not just in science and medicine, where professors are held hostage to the wok beast. Recently Hamline University fired an art professor, accusing him of “privileging radical Islamist views.”
what did she do She warned her students in advance that she would show a picture of the Prophet Mohammad with a timer notification so that those who adhered to the principle that the Prophet’s likeness could not be seen would turn away.
One student, determined not to be swayed, managed to rally a group of woke campus zombies to sign a petition, and this art professor was fired. And universities to think your kids will learn cutting edge concepts and be pushed out of their comfort zones.
“You need a college degree to get a tech job!”
Sorry, I must have missed the memo.
I left my pager with your theory in the 90’s.

So what’s the point of my little true horror story? The reality is that The Voke monster has put us all at risk.
Critical race theory programs are mandatory at 58 of the top 100 medical schools in the United States. This means that if you have a child who dreams of becoming a doctor one day, they will have to sit through CRT programs while they study anatomy, biology, and all things related to medicine.
The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Heersink School of Medicine requires at least half of all applicants accepted to the school to be ‘diverse’. That’s great, right?
Except, the university is not evaluating skills; Instead, they are evaluating skin color over performance and hard work. What we want to value in the field of medicine is … er, I mean … the practice of medicine.
University of California, Davis School of Medicine All student orientation programs on “Anti-Racism” and “Health Equity” and “Racism” should be part of the school’s curriculum. Because when surgeons work on your heart, your tumors, or any other part of your body when you’re old or sick – what color your skin is matters.
Medical students at the University of Minnesota pledged to “respect all indigenous healing practices that have historically been marginalized by Western medicine” and to fight against “white supremacy, colonialism.” [and] gender binary.”

This should scare us all, regardless of skin color.
As for me, I might add a multivitamin to my routine because I’m no more thrilled to see a doctor than I am when I’m older. Dear readers, stay healthy.
