Speaking on a big episode of TV3 Thursday, March 30, he said, “No one is in charge at the moment, you know why, the sport of NDC has gone with Jerry Rawlings.
“Now you have what we call the Mahama cult, who believe in the Mahama doctrine. If you are not a Mahama person you are out.
“NDC is a personality cult, if you don’t support the incompetent you don’t belong.”
He described the recent decision by the NDC to replace their minority leadership as reckless.
“Haruna, who was able to win a seat for you in the heart of the NPP, this rash decision to pull out and pull out Muntaka is not right but we are happy that they are strategically clueless.”
Relatedly, NDC MP for Bavuku Central Mahama Ayariga said the party will kick against the three new tax bills.
Speaking on Accra based City FM, Hon. Ayeriga said that unlike the approval of ministerial nominees, which used a secret ballot, a head count would be conducted to decide whether to accept new tax bills and that would help reject the bills.
“It will be a voice vote, where if you are not satisfied, we will call for a division and then there will be a number of heads and the matter will be decided, and I am very confident that all our members will be in the House and vote in accordance with our position to vote against the bill.
“You will stand and be counted and everyone will be watching, including your constituents, and so if you don’t go with your constituents, they will see you and measure you accordingly,” he explained.
Mr. Ayeriga emphasized that the minority would have considered if the government was making efforts to cut its spending but “Ghanaians are only interested in asking them to pay more taxes and not cutting the consumption of taxes”. “It cannot allow such a burden on Ghanaians.
