Robert Costello, Michael Cohen’s legal counsel, spoke with Tucker Carlson Monday night after testifying in the Manhattan grand jury’s investigation into President Donald Trump.
Costello told the FOX News audience that he testified for two years before Alvin Bragg’s Manhattan grand jury.
Robert Costello told Tucker Carlson, “I talked to the jury for two hours … it was clear to me that the Manhattan grand jury did not want to get the truth.”
Robert Costello: I just spent 2 hours testifying before a grand jury in downtown Manhattan and I understand my point. Although it’s clear to me that the Manhattan DA’s office doesn’t want to get at the truth, I need to explain it a little. I called Michael Cohn after seeing on TV what he said he would tell the grand jury, and he told the grand jury the opposite of what he told us when we first represented him in April 2018. So I said I’m sitting at home watching these lies and I have to do something about it. I don’t represent Donald Trump, but I stand for justice. And I think I have a legal obligation to inform both sides. So that’s what I did.
Costello later told Tucker that Michael Cohen had a “lying, cheating and stealing, mentality.”
Robert Costello: And I told them and today I told the grand jury that I am the deputy chief of the criminal division of the US. Southern District Advocate. I said I wouldn’t touch a witness like Michael Cohn for any money. You cannot depend on this person.
