Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has a new excuse for his terrible handling of the train disaster in Ohio. It’s Trump’s fault!
Buttigieg is trying to point out that the policies enacted in 2018 under Trump will prevent the implementation of policies that could prevent this disaster from happening.
Is Trump even stopping him from doing anything about it now? Because he doesn’t seem to be doing much.

Pete Buttigieg blames Trump for Ohio train derailment amid criticism: ‘We’re constrained’
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has shifted part of the blame for the recent derailment of a train carrying toxic chemicals in Ohio after the Trump administration rolled back a little-known safety rule.
Buttigieg noted Tuesday evening that his agency has taken several steps to improve rail safety through “historic investments” but said it was constrained by the Trump administration’s action. In 2018, the Department of Transportation (DOT) withdrew a rule proposed three years ago that would have required trains carrying certain hazardous chemicals to employ electronically controlled pneumatic (ECP) brakes, saying the benefits of the technology were inconclusive.
“In light of the East Palestine derailment and its impact on hundreds of residents, we’re seeing a lot of new or renewed (and welcome) interest in our work on rail safety, so I wanted to share more about what we’re doing in the region,” Buttigieg tweeted.
“We are restricted by law in some areas of rail regulation (such as the braking rule that was repealed by the Trump administration in 2018 due to a law passed by Congress in 2015), but we are using the authority we have to keep people safe,” the transportation secretary added. “And of course, I’m always ready to work with Congress to enhance (or in some cases, restore) our ability to address rail safety issues.”
What a lame excuse. Buttigieg is worthless.
It’s 2023 @PeteButtigieg.

#Shop Complaining #Trump for #Ohio Train Disaster – Pathetic! #Major downtown It took 10 days to resolve the crisis, with lies and attempts to cover up the massive damage caused by the controlled release and burning of deadly chemicals that poisoned local residents. He should resign!

This is the state of the Biden administration: blame anything that happened exclusively on Trump’s watch.
Pete Buttigieg was a total embarrassment and was fired months ago for poor performance in the private sector. https://t.co/yRBsDF8Q9q

Buttigieg’s hopes of running for president are going up in smoke with burning chemicals in Ohio.
