In a recent episode of the show ‘Real News’ hosted by Acrobato, TV star Christian revealed that he was the beneficiary of Atsu’s kindness. Acrobato revealed that the player once gifted him 800 euros but they had never met before.
Praising the Hatayspor player, Acrobeto said “I have seen Atsu on TV but never met him in person but he sent money through Kwaku Manu to give it to me. He said he enjoyed Real News as it was a source of entertainment for him while in EuropeE”.
“Kwaku Manu told him that I was his uncle and asked him to give me money to show his appreciation for the work I was doing. One of his close friends also called to check if I got the money. I expressed my gratitude to him,He explained during the show.
According to Acrobeto, “I didn’t know him but I was shocked at how he showed me love. Recently he helped release some prisoners.
“We all can die anytime so work on your soul. Can’t confirm whether he is alive or dead but imagine what he must be going through. It is very painful. Let us all pray for him and stop unnecessary speculation,” he added.
Atsu, who plays for Turkish side Hatayspor, was reportedly trapped under the rubble after the February 6 earthquake that hit the southern part of the country and parts of Syria.
So far, the disaster is said to have claimed more than 35,000 lives in the two countries, with the death toll continuing to rise. Thousands of people have been injured as rescue efforts continue in earnest to find more survivors under the rubble.
The plight of Christian Atsu has attracted widespread interest in Ghana and around the world. In an interview with the BBC last week, his British wife called on the Turkish and British authorities to speed up action to protect the former Chelsea, Newcastle player.
