A disturbing global trend of young people dying without warning continues.
Last week in Laval, Quebec, Canada, a 17-year-old soccer player named William Caron-Cabrera reportedly died after suffering a “cardiac arrest.” He was a student at Curé-Antoine-Labelle high school.
The official cause of Caron-Cabrera’s “cardiac arrest” activity and subsequent death is unknown at this time. A full autopsy is yet to be conducted.

Curé-Antoine-Labelle high school wolves are in mourning. He announced the death of his player William Caron-Cabrera earlier the week of February 6.
He was in the second five and was supposed to continue his sports career at the college level with Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy (CNDF). The defensive back also worked for Quebec teams and the Laval-Nord Vikings.
“We are saddened by the death of one of our own, we can read on the Facebook page of the Laval team. William […] Just completed his fifth season with Wolves. Our deepest thoughts go out to his family and loved ones.
According to information provided by the Laval Police Department, he died in his sleep after cardiac arrest. The cause is not suspicious, not criminal in any way or due to suicide.
An admired person
Several organizations and relatives have reacted to the death of the 17-year-old athlete.
“William was a quality athlete, everyone’s friend, always there to make us laugh and his departure leaves a big void in our big handball Laval family, as we can read on the Facebook page of this same organization in Jesus Island. Take care of your friends and rest in peace.
“William Caron-Cabrera was a talented, passionate, funny and smiling player whom we were blessed to count on. [our] A big family”, adds the Flag-Football Terrebonne Club. It is with a heavy heart that we learn of his passing today. He was able to make a positive impact on people throughout his short life.
Hopefully Caron-Cabrera’s family will accept the full cause of his sudden death. Many of these young families never received closure.
