“The little kid in me doesn’t even know how to handle it,” Burkhardt told The Inquirer, “which means I’d be crazy not to enjoy it.”
It was Burkhardt and Olsen’s first Super Bowl, and it could be their last. Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady has given Fox Sports his no. 1 announced last week that he plans to join the NFL as an analyst, which could be handy the next time the network airs a big game.
The average NFL game typically has 16 commercial breaks, and because of all the untimed stops in the game, there is no set “end time” for games. The Super Bowl is even tougher to predict, thanks to all those expensive commercials and a full-on halftime concert (this year headlined by Rihanna, who will perform live for the first time since the 2018 Grammys).
Over the past 10 seasons, the average length of a Super Bowl has been about three hours and 39 minutes. Using that measure, the game ends at around 10:09 pm ET.
This year, Sylvester Stallone, Serena Williams and Maya Rudolph are expected to appear in commercials instead of M&M’s animated spokes candies.
