Some liberal cities are planning to ban police from making certain types of traffic stops.
After all the nonsense of charging the police and subsequent crime problems, you’d think the people living in these cities would be tired of progressive law enforcement.
This makes matters worse.

Forget ‘defund the police’: There’s a new movement to handcuff the police
Leaders in many states and cities are embracing efforts to bar police from pulling over drivers for some less-severe traffic violations, a move some experts believe threatens public safety.
Lawmakers in Washington state are pushing a plan to ban police traffic stops to address some low-level traffic law violations, and Oregon has already instituted a similar policy, while San Francisco is considering a similar city-wide plan after Los Angeles and Minneapolis instituted their own. According to experts who spoke with the Daily Caller News Foundation, such restrictions effectively deter enforcement against more serious crimes and can put innocent citizens at risk.
Heritage Foundation legal fellow Zach Smith said such actions are “par for the course” “in the ongoing war on police officers across the county, essentially handcuffing them, not allowing them to do their jobs.”
“Many who support these bills say that these types of minor violations have been disproportionately used as a pretext to stop black or other minority members of their communities,” Smith told DCNF. “But what the authorities are finding is that when they’re not allowed to enforce the laws that are on the books, it basically leads to an increase in under-policing in these communities.”
This is madness.
Washington Democrats are looking to ban nearly all police traffic stops — many of which help stop DUI drivers.
Washington Democrats are looking to lower the blood alcohol content to .05%, but still not *really* allowing the police to intervene.

On proper notice, liberals are all pushing the same idea.
If we want to reduce deaths at the hands of police, we need to reduce traffic stops https://t.co/Z2PuGquPIo

It’s surprising that the left is still pushing to make law enforcement less effective.
