Airplane Ian Posted to YouTube:
“Two F-15 fighter jets scrambled from Portland International Airport on Saturday evening. Shortly after his flight took off, the FAA issued a temporary flight restriction based in Havre, MT to support air defense operations. It follows a similar pattern to the earlier shoot down in Canada today and the shoot down in Alaska and before that in South Carolina.
Update: Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) said the government apparently told them they would wait until morning to extract the object:
“I am in direct contact with NORCOM and monitoring the latest issue at Havre and the northern border. Airspace closed due to object that may interfere with commercial air traffic – DOD will resume efforts to observe and level the object in the morning.

Update 8:50 pm EST: Fox News confirms airspace has reopened:
A short time later, the FAA said the airspace had reopened but did not provide further details.
“The FAA has closed some airspace in Montana to support Department of Defense activities,” an FAA spokesperson said. “Airspace reopened.”
Sen. John Tester (D-MT), who does not have the connections that Representative Rosendale does, said, “I am aware of the material in Montana airspace and am in close contact with senior DOD and administration officials. I am closely monitoring the situation and receiving regular updates. I will continue to ask the American public for answers.
