Former Vice President Mike Pence has been subpoenaed by the special counsel overseeing the investigation into former President Donald Trump, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

It was not immediately clear what information the subpoena was seeking from special counsel Jack Smith, but it follows months of negotiations between federal prosecutors and Pence’s legal team.
Jack Smith, who returned to the U.S. from Europe after recovering from a biking accident, is going full steam ahead with an investigation into whether Trump committed crimes.
The special counsel’s investigation was supposed to focus on whether Trump broke the law when he took White House documents to Mar-a-Lago, and the other part of the probe is related to Jan. 6.
However, Jack Smith has now expanded his investigation and is looking at Trump’s efforts to fight a massive 2020 election fraud operation in key swing states.
In December, Jack Smith reportedly subpoenaed officials in Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin for communications with Trump in his bid to run for the 2020 election.
Jack Smith offered subdivisions to the secretaries of state in Michigan and Arizona as he expanded his fishing expeditions.
Soros backers Jocelyn Benson and Katie Hobbs were subpoenaed as part of Jack Smith’s investigation into Trump’s bid to run in the 2020 election.
