A week-long flyover of the United States from Alaska to South Carolina came a day after Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said US military communications and movements had to be suspended last week after a Chinese spy balloon flew over strategic military bases. Just offshore, Joe Biden said it was “not a major breach.”
Biden made the comments during an interview with Notícias Telemundo by reporter Julio Vaquero earlier Thursday in Tampa, Florida.
JULIO VAQUERO: And it wasn’t a major security breach for the United States, just the fact that the balloon got into the airspace?
PRESIDENT BIDEN: No. pic.twitter.com/xHOHTNUn7P
