Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania was hospitalized overnight after suffering a ‘head stroke’ during a Democratic retreat, but doctors say an initial test gave no indication he had suffered another stroke.
“Toward the end of today’s Senate Democratic retreat, Senator John Fetterman began feeling lighter,” read a statement released by his office. “He left and called his staff, who picked him up and drove him to George Washington University Hospital.”
His team is sure to note that initial testing shows no correlation between this incident and the stroke he suffered in May.
“Initial tests showed no evidence of a new stroke, but doctors are running more tests and John is staying overnight for observation,” she reports.
“He is in good spirits and talking to his staff and family.”

John Fetterman is hospitalized, being examined for a possible stroke
The incident comes just one month into his tenure as a senator and just three months after an election where critics accused him of trying to hide medical problems to get out the vote as early as possible in Pennsylvania.

The statement of his office also caused consternation.
He obviously refers to a stroke, which is the first question that pops into a reporter’s mind. However, running more tests seems to indicate that they are jumping on the bandwagon before all the information.
Not to mention, it’s quite a leap to go from feeling dizzy – for many people probably a common ailment of being tired or dehydrated – to ‘Well, at least they’re able to talk to their family.’
We wish Mr. Fetterman all the best and are praying for a speedy recovery. That said, the situation should not be sugarcoated — he is medically less qualified to serve in public office than President Biden.

Not fit for duty
A shocking video from NBC News just a month before the midterm elections showed Fetterman needing help from a transcription program to understand questions from reporters face-to-face.
Speaking to anchor Lester Holt, reporter Dasha Burns expressed concern over the observation.
“His paralyzing Fetterman’s campaign requires closed captioning technology to basically read our questions as we asked them in this interview,” he responded.
“And Lester, in a short speech before the interview without a title, it was not clear that he was understanding our conversation.”

Burns, however, was heavily criticized by his family and campaign for daring to call out the Pennsylvania Democrat’s inability to understand what was being said.
Her concerns came to fruition just weeks later when Fetterman competed in a debate that was considered painful to watch.
Fetterman opened the discussion with a comment that should go down in the annals of all-time quotes: “Hi. Good night everyone.”

There are several other examples from the debate show where Fetterman did not understand the questions and/or was unable to convey his thoughts in the answer.

Nearly 640,000 pre-election ballots had already been cast in Pennsylvania by the time voters had a chance to gauge Fetterman’s fitness to speak, CNN reported.
During President Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, the conversation turned to how families can financially deal with a medical emergency in their home.
C-Span’s cameras immediately cut to a view of Fetterman sitting in the crowd.

It’s sad that Fetterman was dragged into a Senate seat he wasn’t healthy enough to hold.
Remember, it was his own wife who demanded “consequences” for Burns for daring to investigate and question the senator’s medical concerns.

Fetterman’s staff said “we will provide more information when we have it.”
Hopefully, a full recovery is in the works and a clean bill of health to follow. In the meantime, his family and staff should reconsider urging this man to continue in his role as a senator.
