During a Congressional Oversight Committee hearing on censorship by Twitter during the 2020 election, “squad” member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (aka AOC) called the events surrounding Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop “semi-fake.” .”
“When the New York Post first reported in October 2020 that it had obtained the contents of a laptop computer allegedly owned by Joe Biden’s son Hunter,” the congresswoman said, “the newspaper was not sharing what it had obtained.”
“The New York Post had this alleged information and was trying to publish it without verification without any backup information. They were trying to publish it on Twitter, Twitter wouldn’t let them and now they’re upset.
The AOC is referring to the censorship of all stories and content on Twitter regarding Hunter’s laptop, which Joe Biden and other Democrats and the media jumped to call “Russian disinformation.” Evidence confirmed that the laptop belonged to Joe Biden’s son, and the contents, pornographic photos and other messages related to the Biden family’s business dealings were authentic.
AOC refers to the Hunter Biden laptop story as a “24-hour hiccup.”

During the AOC’s uproar, he said he believed “political operatives who tried to inject explosive misinformation” were behind the initial New York Post story and was “livid” that the story was censored online.
“And they want the ability to do it again,” he continued. “They want the ability to screw this up again. So here’s the social media being dragged into Congress. They’re weaponizing the use of this committee so they can do it again. A full inquiry into a 24-hour crisis in the right-wing political operation. That’s why we’re here right now.”
From there, the inquiry began calling Hunter Biden’s allegations of “misuse” of taxpayer resources and his controversial business dealings with a Ukrainian gas exporter and the Chinese government “half-baked.”
“We can talk about health care, we can talk about lowering the cost of drugs, we can talk about abortion rights, civil rights, voting rights, but instead, we’re talking about Hunter Biden’s half-fake laptop. The story is, I mean, it’s embarrassing. But I Let’s get into it…let’s talk about the real thing.
The AOC finds it difficult to clarify which part of the events surrounding the laptop is fake, as even the liberal New York Times had to accept the authenticity of the laptop and its contents, ending the leftist theory. The laptop fiasco was a Russian disinformation campaign.

What we already know from laptops
The contents of the laptop, a primary focus of the inquiry, are emails that show Hunter Biden promised to arrange a meeting between Ukrainian oil officials and his father while his father was serving as vice president.
According to a New York Post piece published just in time for the 2020 election, Burma’s board adviser, Vadim Pozharsky, said a commendation message sent to Hunter Biden in 2015 “referred to a never-before-disclosed meeting.” While Hunter Burisma was on the board, he was making $50,000 a month despite having no experience in business, engineering or fossil fuels.
“Dear Hunter,” one correspondence began, “Thank you for inviting me to DC and visiting your father and spending some time together.”
An even older email dating back to the 2014 show asks the same adviser, Hunter Biden, to give him “advice on how to use your influence” on Burisma’s behalf.
The revelation contradicts President Biden’s claim that he “never spoke to my son about his overseas business dealings.”
