Like many Americans, I spend the weekend glued to my television because I feel like something out of a dystopian conflict movie. We watched in shock and awe as the Chinese spy balloon traveled from Alaska through Canada and across our country from Montana to South Carolina.
Besides the obvious fact that it sends shivers up and down our collective spines, rumors that three similar balloons have also landed in our airspace during the Trump administration are enough to make you fall out of your chair.
But wait, it gets worse, much worse.
The current administration reports that the previous POTUS was never aware of the incidents, except for the civilian leaders appointed under him. It was one of the strangest situations in my lifetime, and the questions and concerns kept piling up.
So anonymous Biden administration sources are pushing the “multiple Chinese spy balloons crossed America under Trump” line to the media for cover.
But former Secdef Esper, ODNI Ratcliffe, and President Trump all categorically denied this, and Congressional intel never asked for it.

Nameless
I don’t understand how many no-name officials this administration has, telling reporters all kinds of bad news. With no surprise, it started with my favorite under-reviewed but most corrupt of all- the Department of Defense.

As one senior defense official ‘talks in the background’ (a fancy way of saying a person knows what they’re talking about but is too cowardly to attach their name to it), “Chinese balloons briefly flew over the continental United States at least three times under the previous administration.”
I like the reference to ‘at least’ in that statement, leaving the possibility of their hand getting stuck in the cookie jar again. They may even have to admit more previously undisclosed Chinese balloons. Not to be outdone, this time another unnamed official from the Biden administration directly confirmed the allegation.
These balloons flew over Texas and Florida during Trump’s tenure, but no one was informed about the incident. So let that sink in for just a minute; Not one of our closest adversaries has informed you that a duly elected former president and his appointees are floating spy balloons over our great nation.
Chinese balloons flew over the US under Trump to say Biden’s DOD was shamelessly using an anonymous source — and the Trump team allowed it.
This is a lie. We’ve never heard of this – never.
Congress should demand @SecDef tell the truth Shame on you @JakeSullivan46.

Left in the dark
This news has come as a shock not only to the American public but also to those within the Trump administration. Trump’s campaigner, former ambassador and national security adviser John Bolton, also said he was not informed of such incidents during his time.
“I don’t ever recall anyone coming into my office or reading that the Chinese had a surveillance balloon over the United States,” former Defense Secretary Mark Esper said.
A senior civilian leader of the Army claimed that no one told him about these balloons.
Now, to be fair, Trump had his own no-name people, an anonymous Trump administration national security official came out and said. “I don’t know of one civilian national security leader from the Trump administration who has heard about this.”
Let’s sit in this space for a moment. It is incredibly telling and terrifying that this particular officer probably knew the uniformed leaders and kept it from their civilian superiors.
You see, there is a fundamental reason why civilians are the ultimate authority in the military to protect against the military state. So what actually happened?
The same thing happened this time.
Reporters asked senators this morning whether the US is ready to deal with China:
Cornyn: “We’re not ready if China decides to invade Taiwan.”
Hawley: “Oh no, absolutely not. We have to tell the American people the truth. If China attacked Taiwan today, Taiwan would fall.

Never got a chance
According to unnamed officials who spoke to the press, incidents of the previous administration have not been uncovered since Trump left the White House.
I’ll go ahead and throw up the ‘BS’ flag.
First, why wasn’t this information leaked to the press earlier? Politically, I think it’s very convenient to tell the American people that the previous administration couldn’t stop the Chinese from flying balloons through our airspace. .
Second, don’t add details. ‘Anonymous’ explained that it took weeks to confirm that they were Chinese spy balloons as they used jamming systems to disguise their purpose.
Nut for a minute, if they can’t find it after they’re gone and take weeks, then all these events happened against the inauguration, right? If not, wouldn’t it be prudent to notify the Secretary of Defense of foreign balloons with potential jamming capabilities in our airspace?
What if the balloons were carrying some kind of chemical agent? If they have the ability to drop bombs?
Obviously there is more to this situation than meets the eye. Regardless, an article from Bloomberg points out the obvious “Former presidents have never been given the opportunity to shoot balloons.”
If you thought it wasn’t intentional, you could have been tricked into painting Tom Sawyer’s fence.
BREAKING: Former ODNI John Ratcliffe denies Biden administration claim that Chinese sent 3 balloons to US on Trump’s watch: “I can deny that. That didn’t happen.” It was the first time and “the damage is incalculable,” he said. He referred to Biden and his domestic security team as “compromised.”

Defies logic
The current administration initially identified this latest balloon on January 28. However, the world was made aware of it after crossing Montana and being recognized by ordinary citizens. At that point, the administration had to face up or pin on the aliens.
Once the balloon passed over South Carolina it was shot down. Former Obama administration Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta told CNN:
“…If we had known about the balloon, I think we should have taken steps to prevent it from entering our airspace, and I’m not sure we would have simply let it cross the country, obviously sensitive military sites. I don’t see the logic in that.”
If you believe an ‘unnamed’ senior Biden administration official, he added that “Close observation of the balloon in flight allowed us to better understand this Chinese program and confirmed that its mission was surveillance.”
Come on! It took you this long to figure out that this balloon wasn’t meant to deliver a love village in the sky but you’re telling me to spy on us and send a message?
“If he had made the decision to shoot it down on Wednesday, I think it should have been made public,” Panetta told the DOD about President Biden’s statement to shoot down the balloon on Wednesday.
Actually, but it needs to actually happen. It’s time to realize that forces within our government control what information is disseminated not only to the public – but to the elected officials who make key governing decisions.
Perhaps it is time to look more closely at the military and intelligence establishment with more scrutiny and skepticism. Who are they really serving and protecting?
Have Chinese spy balloons flown near the US during the Trump administration and has Millie deliberately withheld intel from the White House?
