You know the liberal love-affair with the First Lady VPOTUS is messy, complicated, and a little stressful. The New York Times It also wonders if its career and reputation are worth saving or if it needs someone else to revive the electorate.
The Times published a headline Monday questioning Harris’ ability and competence, even going so far as to add some well-connected Democrats to the list of those wondering whether the incumbent VP should drop out at the upcoming 2024 convention. Draw Biden’s odds.
The article accused Harris of “having a difficult time defining her vice presidential position. Even her allies are tired of waiting. Just what you want to hear from a major liberal publication before the general election cycle begins.”
“But what’s painful for Ms. Harris is that, in private conversations over the past few months, dozens of Democrats in the White House, on Capitol Hill and across the nation — including some who helped put her on the party’s 2020 ticket — haven’t risen to the challenge of proving she’s the future leader of the party, much less the country.
Who are some of these democrats who have probably now made Kamala’s enemies if they weren’t already on her list of enemies?

It’s not me, it’s you
Someone willing to put his name out there is longtime Democratic fundraiser John Morgan, who believes Harris’ dismal record from his first term creates “one of the toughest arguments against Biden.”

Aside from his extraordinary (one might say non-existent) effort to manage the crippling immigration crisis along our southern border, Democrats aren’t sure if Harris will do any good in a leadership position if he’s forced to assume the office of POTUS.
Yes, Democrats are now beginning to acknowledge that Biden’s age and apparent cognitive decline are creating a situation where he can no longer run.
“It doesn’t take a genius to say, ‘Look, with his age, we really need to think about this,'” Morgan said.
“I can’t think of anything she did,” he continued, “except to stand by his side at certain ceremonies.”
Fox News cited multiple polls that indicated she was largely unfavored among American voters, with only “39% of Americans saying they approve of the VP”.
This should not make Democrats think that Biden will be able to carry his weight to victory. A recent poll by FiveThirtyEight shows Biden currently with an approval rating of 52%.

Will Biden Replace His Vice President?
Rumblings of President Biden considering picking another VP as part of his 2024 ticket are nothing new inside the Beltway.
While the rumors persist, especially since Biden has denied rumors that he won’t run for a consecutive term, which he has unequivocally said he plans to do in 2024, there are plenty of political commentators who say Biden is still bringing Harris with him. , happily or not.
“The job is inherently subservient — worse than embarrassing the president is outshining him — and the office always undercuts its occupants,” says columnist Mark Barabuck. Los Angeles Times. “Enter a respected governor or US senator and soon you are transformed in the public eye into a lapdog, a nullity, or the basis of the administration.”
As far as replacement-rumors go, Barabuck is unconvinced, saying, “Biden has given signs, both public and private, that he plans to seek re-election with Harris. All of the conversations about 2024 have been based on the assumption that he will be on the Democratic ticket, several people familiar with those discussions said. There has been no talk of a replacement.” He said.
California Democratic strategist Dan Newman, who is familiar with Harris from his time as a state senator, doesn’t think the rumors are based on anything factual.
“I think there’s zero chance of replacing her,” he said, believing the whispers and grumblings were “a bunch of nonsense about nothing.”
Hank Shenkoff, a New York Democratic political consultant, made his promise even more blunt, saying, “If Biden is running for reelection, she’s staying.”
