New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate Joe Gurte has reiterated his desire and readiness to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 presidential race to ensure victory for the party.
The former Minister of Railway Development and Member of Parliament (MP) for Essikado-Ketan said in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that he will bring in new and revised people-centric policies.
He expressed confidence that his underground campaign is in high spirits as the party gears up to elect a leader for the 2024 presidential polls.
Joe Gharte said they are rapidly gaining popularity in all 16 regions of Ghana with special reference to the Volta and Oti regions.
The aspirant said his popularity in the Oti and Volta regions was extraordinary even though he hailed from the Western and Central regions.
Joe Gharte revealed that his relationship with the original Volta Region, from which the Oti region was carved, began before his political career, which was confirmed by Torgbui Ayim IV, the GB-Bla Divisional Chief of Hono.
Joe Gharte is a Ghanaian lawyer, educationist and politician.
He is the former Attorney General of Ghana between 2006 and 2009, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament from 2013 to 2017 and Minister of Railways and Development from 2017 to 2021.
They are of Shama origin in the western region.
