The Gateway Pundit reports on questions surrounding The Representation Project, a nonprofit run by California Governor Gavin Newsom’s wife, Jennifer.
According to their website, “The mission of the Representation Project is to fight sexism through films, education, research and activism to build a world where everyone can achieve their full potential.”
Although nonprofits are exempt from paying federal taxes, they must comply with state and federal reporting requirements to protect the taxpayer’s interest.
In a report by Open the Books, Newsom’s nonprofit appears to have failed to do so, though it continues to collect donations from “individuals and large corporations that supported her husband and did business with the state of California.”
In a comprehensive and disturbing report, Open the Books revealed additional information about funding provided by the Representation Project for gender justice advocating films and curricula contracted to schools.

The organization’s Impact Report (2011-2021) reveals that the organization’s film curriculum is being used in 5,000 schools across the country and generating $1,483,001 in film screening revenue.
The content of the films and the accompanying syllabus is confusing.

Open Books Reports (edited for clear language):
The film contains strong language and provocatively dressed women:
- Caroline Heldman, now executive director of the nonprofit Newsom, described the role of women in action movies as a “fighting f***ing toy.”
- Actress Daphne Zuniga is famous Melrose Place and film parody space balls,In response to being told to get plastic surgery, he advised women to “tell those f***ers to get penile implants”.
- Middle school children are presented with pictures of upside-down strippers (see above).
Then, it gets worse.
Newsom’s film The mask you live in Contains website addresses for porn sites including Porn Hub, Massivecams, BDSM.XXX, and Brazzers.com. The pornographic images displayed in the film are tagged with descriptions such as “domination,” “face f***,” “kinky couples,” and “…dirty brunettes.”
Newsom’s lewd videos included images of naked or mostly nude women being slapped, handcuffed and brutalized. The images are graphic, albeit blurry. Screenshots of those scenes can be found here (viewer discretion advised).
These jarring images are displayed with their corresponding porn website addresses – providing a guide for future exploration. The film seems to justify their harmful content by saying “34% of young people access unwanted pornography online”.
However, 100% of young people (or anyone else) will get unwanted or gratuitous pornography by watching Newsom’s movies.
