He was arraigned before a court presided over by His Worship Stephen Tebiri on Thursday, February 2.
The suspect was reportedly tentatively charged with murder but his plea was not accepted.
His counsel disagreed with the allegation that his client caused the death of the deceased, as in his view, the deceased fought with a certain policeman and swallowed a black polythene bag before his death.
He argues that a post-mortem examination could exonerate his client, saying the Taser he allegedly used on the deceased. “It did not work when the accused was interrogated after his arrest.”
