The media sector is one of the industries most affected by the shift in business models that has reduced returns.

The inaugural Africa Media Festival will enable industry participants to share their knowledge and expertise on cutting-edge trends, technologies and networks that will support the sector’s transition to sustainability.

Investors, funders, media owners, social media platforms, journalists, creatives and governments are the main target audience of the conference. The event is scheduled for February 14 and 15 in Nairobi.

Barazza Media Executive Director Maurice Otieno had this to say about the incident. “We invite media players, journalists, podcasters, authors and illustrators from various media spaces to join us and address cultural, social, political and economic issues around contemporary issues affecting Africa.”

Executive Director also said. “We are targeting a total of 1,500 delegates over the two days. As the conference is a pan-African conference, we aim to have government representatives and speakers from other countries within and outside the continent.

Cartoonists, writers, journalists, NFT/Blockchain professionals, TV, radio, social media influencers, photographers, government officials, fundraisers and poets are just a few of the expected representatives.

The conference is expected to serve as a platform for leading thinkers to experiment, solve problems, learn and envision new ways of expressing stories while maintaining profitability.

Media organizations plan to eliminate staff and take other cost-saving measures in the coming year, according to a 2023 analysis by Reuters and the University of Oxford.

In a world where the media industry is constantly evolving, it is important for media companies to ensure their sustainability. With the rise of digital media and the decline of traditional media, companies must stay ahead of the curve by embracing new technology and adopting sustainable practices.
