Confirming the news, an English-born Ghanaian journalist, Rahman Osman said he has already signed a contract and will be a Ayew Forest player.
Andre Ayew has been at the center of much speculation over his future after mutually terminating his contract with Al Sadd last week.
Fellow Premiership side Everton are widely reported to be in pole position to sign him on a free transfer.
However, Ayew’s former boss at Swansea, Steven Cooper, swung the deal in favor of Nottingham Forest at the last minute.
The Black Stars captain’s contract with Al Sadd was expected to expire in June this year, however, both parties have agreed to terminate it earlier.
In a tweet from the club, it said: “Al-Saad SC has reached an agreement with Andre Ayew to terminate his contract with the club by mutual consent”.
Andre Ayew joined the club as a free agent in 2021 after leaving English side Swansea City.
