A group of illegal immigrants living in free hotel rooms in New York City are refusing to be moved to a new “mega-shelter” in Brooklyn and have now resorted to sleeping on the streets as a form of protest.
The New York Post describes the new facility as a “mega-shelter” and quotes one expat as explaining that the ‘mega’ status is not attractive enough because “the hotel has many services. [now] have been taken away.”
The illegal immigrants were initially housed at the Watson Hotel in midtown Manhattan but were scheduled to be transferred to a shelter at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.
However, now joined by left-wing activists, many of them refused to go over the weekend and even into Monday. Others went to a new shelter and returned to a hotel because their new location “lacked heat and bathroom space.”
New York City Mayor Eric Adams appeared to contradict those claims and urged the city to “continue to exceed our moral obligations by providing shelter, food, health care, education and a host of other services to those seeking asylum.”
Before that, the public was not aware that a ‘sanctuary city’ had a limit on its ‘moral obligations’.

Who would have guessed that an illegal immigrant — disregarding the laws of a sovereign nation — would be inclined to do as he was instructed and leave a New York City hotel?
Surely we thought they would follow through and follow the process laid out before them, didn’t we?

The Political Insider reported in October that shelters in the city include television sets, Xbox gaming consoles and “culturally appropriate” meals.
They were so ornate that it annoyed the local refugees.
“Do they have Xboxes? Get the f*** out of here!” A man moved to the New York Post.
“The building I’m in is awful,” he said, describing the various smells throughout the building, which could be “just yards away” from the migrant shelter. “Tents look five times better.”

RELATED: ‘Sanctuary City’ NYC Mayor Eric Adams Suddenly Discovers Illegal Immigrant Surge Is ‘National Crisis’
Critics were angered by reports that illegal immigrants were refusing to leave a luxury New York City hotel and go to an immigrant shelter assigned to them.
Fox News host Brian Kilmeade described the situation as “outrageous”.
“I can’t believe the audacity of someone who comes to our country illegally, gets a free bus ride to the number one city in the country, and then decides to pick and choose the free accommodations they’re getting,” he said.
Co-host Rachel Campos agreed with Duffy Kilmeade’s assessment.
“We’re not putting Americans first,” he explained. “It’s absolutely insane.”
Mayor Adams continued to plead with the Biden administration for help dealing with the overload of illegal immigrants in New York City, a crisis he previously described as pushing the city to a “breaking point.”
“We need serious support from both our state and federal governments,” he said.
Adams visited El Paso, Texas earlier this month and described the surge in border irregularities as a “national crisis.”

“We’re seeing more people arriving now than we’ve ever seen – an average of 400 people per day this past week, with 835 asylum seekers arriving in one day, the biggest single-day arrival we’ve seen so far,” he said. After his visit to the border.
“All of this is pushing New York City to the brink.”
If NYC is struggling with this relatively small influx, think how bad it must be for border states and towns, with thousands of illegal immigrants pouring over the border every day.
Political Insider reported on Monday new numbers showing some 293,993 ‘gotaways’ have fled the country after crossing the border since October.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump vowed to send illegal immigrants “straight home” if elected.
