The Asin Central MP said the amount paid by the officials to the players was justified.
Kennedy Agyapong said players take big risks by choosing to play for the country and should be financially rewarded for it.
“I don’t have a problem paying them to play for us. We have to encourage these stars to come home and play for us. Those in foreign teams earn a lot of money. Some earn $40,000 a week, they come here and they give him $40,000 and we are complaining.
“If this guy hurts himself and can’t play again, he will lose $40,000 a week. I don’t mind paying him what he deserves because he is motivated to come home and serve. Ghanaians should stop complaining,” he said.
