On January 25, at the age of 6, Anastasia Weaver died unexpectedly in the emergency room of Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman, Ohio, surrounded by her family.
Anastasia’s mother, Jessica Day-Weaver, said her husband, Andrew Weaver, found Anastasia unresponsive around 6 a.m. Wednesday when he arrived home.
“This is the hardest post I’ve ever had to do. Anastasia passed away at 6am this morning. Andrew came home and checked on her and she wasn’t breathing. I did CPR until the ambulance arrived and then we went to the children. [hospital],” Ms. Day-Weaver wrote on her Facebook account.
Weaver said Anastasia was pronounced dead 15 minutes later at Akron Children’s Hospital.
No details on the cause of death have been released.

“We’re not sure what happened. We’re in shock and devastated. As soon as we have any updates, we’ll post them,” Ms Day-Weaver said.
A friend of the family is hosting a meal drive with the option of donating cash or a gift card to the family during this difficult time.

Anastasia was born on November 11, 2016 in Boardman, Ohio, according to an online obituary. She had an identical twin sister, Caitlin.
Her mother, according to the Covid blog, is a nurse at Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman.
In a now private Facebook post, Weaver revealed that she and her twin have received the COVID vaccine.

Posted on January 5, 2022: “Covid booster side effects are worse than second shot for me. Bad headache, 101 fever, bad body aches. They were really bad for about 6-8 hours. I’m mostly better now but still have a slight temperature and headache. Despite the side effects, the vaccine is worth it. On a good note. My girls had no side effects from the second shot apart from a sore arm.
On June 29, 2022, Anastasia had a seizure.
“Currently with Anna. She fainted. She is doing well. He currently runs the labs. Update. We are home. Everything returned to normal. Monitoring her at home,” Ms Day-Weaver wrote in a now private post.
On July 15, 2022, Mrs. Day-Weaver reported that although she was using medication to prevent seizures, Anastasia was still constantly having “miniature seizures.”
“It was found this morning that Anna is still having short seizures that last less than 5 seconds with increasing meds. We’ll see if we go back on the meds or add another one while we wait on her current levels to come back. Not the news we wanted but she’s still doing great,” he wrote. .
On September 17, 2022, Mrs. Day-Weaver reported that the entire vaccinated family was infected with Covid-19 for three weeks.
On January 2, 2023, according to Mrs. Day-Weaver, Anastasia was in the hospital for five days.
On January 25, he died unexpectedly.
Details about the cause of death have not been released yet.
The funeral was held last Monday, January 30, 2023.
